When you need to test many cables at the same time you could use a different kind of wire tracer. This circuit tracer is called the continuity tester. Continuity tester is a cable tracer that could be used to test a maximum of 24 cables at a time. Continuity tester is a cable tracer that has a remote that could be connected to one end while the signal tester is connected to the other end. Then what you need to do is to connect all the wires to the signal tracer one by one. When the signal tracer is connected to the same cable as the remote, the number of the remote is shown in the signal tracer. Then you will be able to locate the cable. This cable tracer could be used to test multiple cables by buying a few more remotes.
Remotes for the continuity tester could be bought in the shop. The remotes are normally numbered in a series. Sometimes a cable tracer of this type has a built in tone tracer to make it a more complete cable tracer. Also having two tools in one will save you space and expenditure.
